Some of our team members recently bought the M1 MacBook Air.
If that’s you — no shame. Just make the most of it.
But if you haven’t bought one yet, here’s the truth:
Buying an outdated laptop just to save a few hundred ringgit might cost you a lot more later.
In 2025, the bare minimum I’d recommend is the M2 MacBook Air — 512GB version.
Not because the specs sound nicer on paper.
But because it actually lasts longer, performs smoother, and won’t frustrate you three months from now.
Why You Should Skip the M1 MacBook Air (Even If It’s Cheaper)
The M1 was a breakthrough back in 2020.
But now? It’s starting to show its age — especially for creators, online entrepreneurs, and people who multitask daily.
Here’s what we’ve seen:
- Slower app switching and lag when using Zoom, Canva, or CapCut
- 8GB RAM ceiling means performance dips with multiple browser tabs
- 256GB storage fills up extremely fast with just a few videos, AI files, and content exports
If you’re planning to build your business, create content, or even just run daily tools efficiently — the M1 is going to hold you back sooner than you think.
Why the M2 MacBook Air Hits the Sweet Spot
The M2 MacBook Air (512GB) is the practical middle ground — and it’s ideal for most people reading this.
Here’s what makes it worth it:
- Handles Zoom, Canva, CapCut, ChatGPT, Notion, and Sheets without lag
- 512GB storage = enough space to keep working without constant cleanups
- Long battery life that easily powers a full day of remote work
- Slim, light, fast — great for travel, team calls, and content creation
- Costs much less than the M3, but still runs nearly everything you need in 2025
It’s also got some real-life upgrades over the M1 you’ll notice immediately:
- Better screen with thinner bezels — more space to think, plan, and edit
- Higher-quality webcam — clearer Zoom calls, better impression in meetings
- Faster SSD speeds — quicker bootups, smoother multitasking
Unless you’re doing professional-level video editing or 3D rendering, you don’t need the M3.
And unless your budget is extremely tight, the M1 just isn’t a smart choice anymore.
Your Laptop Is Your Office
If you’re serious about building something online — your laptop is not a luxury. It’s a tool.
Don’t buy just to feel good about “saving money.”
Buy to work better, move faster, and grow smarter.
Because once you’re deep into your business, creating daily, serving clients, or showing up for your team —
you’ll thank yourself for starting with the right machine.
The M2 MacBook Air (512GB) is that machine.
